Pirelli: Shareholders’ meeting called

Pirelli & C. S.p.A. announces that today the notice calling the Shareholders’ meeting for approval of 2009 financial statements, to be held on 20 April 2010 (upon first call) or 21 April 2010 (upon second call), has been published in the Official Gazzette of the Italian Republic.

At the meeting, in order to facilitate presentation of lists for renewal of the Board of Statutory Auditors, a reduction to 1.5% of the threshold forseen by the company’s By-laws for presentation of the same lists, will also be proposed. With this occasion, in line with certain recently approved legislation, it will also be proposed to shareholders to introduce into the company’s By-laws the possibility, for the company, to call shareholders’ meetings for approval of annual financial statements within 180 days of the close of the fiscal year, instead of the 120 day current limit.

The draft financial statements as of 31 December 2009, the consolidated financial statements and the directors’ reports, concerning all the items on the meeting’s agenda, will be made available to the public at the company’s headquarters and at Borsa Italia SpA, and published on the company’s website (www.pirelli.com) by the end of the day on 2 April 2010. On the same website the notice of call of the shareholders’ meeting is also available.
